Never made it to Sicily during that World Cup, though I did go to Sardinia for a game. Had a fabulous time in Italy for a month, though I must tell you that--at the time, at least--every city operated completely differently from the next. Telephones! Yikes. When I made this point, an Italian volunteer at the Cup smiled broadly and said, "Anarchy!"

A nice job John and a reminder that while American pro athletes can be superstars, in most countries a superstar is also a national hero. By the way, name Schillaci has German origins. Now, as some with Italian heritage I grudgingly recognize Sicily as part of Italy. You will notice on a map of Italy, which is shaped like a boot, that the boot is kicking Sicily. Don't know if it is a corner kick or penalty kick.
